The open source mail server

Postal is a complete and fully featured mail server for use by websites & web servers. Think Sendgrid, Mailgun or Postmark but open source and ready for you to run on your own servers.

Postal was created by aTech Media and open sourced for the community

What is Postal all about?

Postal was developed by aTech Media to serve its own mail processing requirements. It includes everything you need to start sending and receiving emails in your own web apps.

Send email from your sites and servers

Postal provides an HTTP API for easy integration with web applications, and an SMTP server for integration with existing applications and systems.

Run on your own hardware

Postal is free and open source. Download the source code and run it on your own Linux servers. Modify it to meet your needs. Scale as far as you like.

Easy to set up with comprehensive docs

With automated installation on Ubuntu, it's quick and easy to get started with Postal. Configure your email system with clear documentation and simple config files.

Spam and virus checking

Postal integrates with SpamAssassin and Amavis for effective filtering of unsafe and unwanted content.

Message Retention

Whether you want to debug your app, or check exactly what was send, Postal allows you to store and examine all send and received messages.

IP pools

For higher volume sending, and shared email systems, manage pools of IP addresses for sending outbound email.
